6)
Steve Finley

Ryan Jacobs
(Jr) (Hononegah) - passed first big test by finishing third in Woodruff Invite

the weekend.
12) Brian Marchese (sr) (York) - idle; open vs. Downers Grove North on 9/15.

Super 25- AA Girls
1)
Amy
Laskowske (sr) (Palatine) - maintains hold on top spot with
impressive runs over the past two weeks.
Laskowske will face first big test against #1 overall girl (Class A’s
Katelyn Bastert- Carthage) and #2 Phelan this weekend in Peoria.
2)
Shannon
Phelan (sr) (Naperville North) - absolutely dominated a field that
featured number of returning all state runners and two former state champions
(Amber Stack and Paulina Garcia). Phelan
gets to test mettle against Laskowske and more this weekend in Peoria.
3)
Lauren
Haberkorn (so) (Chicago Marist) - blazed the field for a second
consecutive weekend. It appears that Ms.
Haberkorn is going to put together a complete season and be a title threat come
November. First, the biggest test is to
come this weekend at Peoria Notre Dame against all the aces.
4)
Haley
Staples (Fr) (Crystal Lake Central) - was reportedly sick just hours before the race according to her
mother. Staples got off to a roaring
start at Wauconda anyway and just held off teammate Stephanie Peisker at the
finish line.
5)
Chelsea
Bolton (Jr) (Palatine Fremd) - third at Woodruff says it all; will be even
better as season moves along.
6)
Amanda Beggs
(sr) (Lincoln-Way East) - rebounded from first loss last weekend with a victory
at Joliet Twp Invite.
7)
Amanda
Laesch (sr) (Wheaton North) - tackled Detweiller Park demons with solid top 10 placing in Woodruff Invite.
8)
Amber Stack
(so) (Wheeling) - perhaps a little rusty, maybe low-key in debut; 3rd at Lake Park.
9)
Carly Bates
(sr) (Palatine) - only losses are to top ranked teammate.
10) Janna Mitsos (Fr) (Lockport) - the heralded freshman debuts very high
after winning big time Woodruff Invite.
11) Caitlin Comfort (so) (Peoria Notre Dame) -
won only race this weekend (low-key dual).
12) Nefeteri Williams (sr)
(Proviso West) - IDLE.
13) Kalli Dalton (Fr) (Conant) - superb start and finish at Woodruff.
14) Michelle Stratton (so) (Naperville North) - picked up the slack for injured teammate Regenfuss; the sophomore should
be another weapon for the Huskies now.
15) Liz Phillips (so) (Lockport) - has not gotten on track yet; has the
ability to supersede dominating performance from a year ago.
16) Jamie Kanter (Jr) (Edwardsville) - showed the northerners something about
herself; starting to make a name for herself in XC.
17) Stephanie Baliga (sr) (Rockford Auburn) -
breakout race of the season at Woodruff; has been consistent over the past few
years.
18) Nicole Benson (so) (Limestone)- a comeback performance at Woodruff in some
respects after not running in state track meet; should be untracked for the
remainder of the season.
19) Abby Higgins (Jr) (Benet Academy) - dropped mightily from last
week after so-so performance this past weekend; will need to rebound.
20) Nancy Nieto (Jr) (Streamwood) - ran so-so at Lake Park Invite over the weekend; hopefully all is
well.

freshman on board.
