Super 20- Class A Boys

 

1)      Jeremy Stevens (Sr.) (Winnebago) - won Woodruff in outstanding effort of 14:36; is consensus #1 runner for Class A.

2)      Charlie Hatch (Sr.) (Nashville) - defending state champion won at Carterville in 14:37; will not face Stevens until state.

3)      Tyler Bradford (Sr.) (Wayne City) - keeps moving along; runner up honors to Stevens at Woodruff.

4)      Dorian Ulrey (Sr.) (Riverdale) - won Rochester Invitational in fine fashion.

5)      Scott Krapf (Sr.) (Danville Schlarman) - was victorious at Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.

6)      Clay Staley (Sr.) (Illini Bluffs) - vastly improved from over a year ago; ran solid 15:47 at Woodruff.

7)      Trenton Tedrick (so) (Winnebago) - waiting in the wings behind Stevens; ran breakout race in Peoria over the weekend.

8)      John Neisler (Sr.) (Olympia) - continues to clock solid performances; may improve to top five by end of season.

9)      Scott Phelps (Sr.) (Monticello) - ran solid 16:04 at Woodruff.

10)  Keith Butler (Sr.) (Monticello) - in teammate’s shadow but can hold own.

11)  Josh Williams (Sr.) (DuQuoin) - runner up performance at Carterville behind Hatch.

12)  Greg McBride (Sr.) (Sparta) - ran well at Carterville this past weekend.

13)  Nick Baldo (Sr.) (Westmont) - not getting attention but is having a fine season; won several meets for his quality team.

14)  Jeff Baird (Sr.) (Sparta) - finished behind teammate McBride at Carterville.

15)  Matt Morse (Jr) (St. Bede) - won Seneca Invite; took second to Ulrey at Rochester Invite.

16)  Nathan Warstler (Georgetown-Ridge Farm) - ran well at PBL.

17)  Challas Ray (Sr.) (Cumberland) - will be there when it’s all said and done.

18)  Robbie Shimp (Jr.) (Henry- Senachwine) - did not have the greatest performance over the weekend.

19)  Samuel DuBose (Sr.) (Fox Valley Lutheran)- good runner just needs to calm down in the early going.

20)  Roger Pinon (Jr) (Chicago Quigley Prep) - one of Class A’s best kept secrets- stay tuned!

 

 

Class A Girls- Super Pics

 

1)      Katelyn Bastert (Jr) (Carthage) - overall #1 girl in either class; won Peoria Woodruff Invite by 15 seconds.  Some observers feel performance was not as dominant as it should have been.

2)      Rachel Brubaker (Sr.) (Durand)- ran very well at Woodruff; was only 15 secs. behind Bastert.  This is closest margin anyone has gotten.

3)      Ryan Eichelberger (Jr) (Reed-Custer) - absolutely dominated the field at Paxton-Buckley.  May be the one to put pressure on Bastert when the time comes.

4)      Teresa Brokaw (Sr.) (West Central) - placed a strong third at Woodruff.

5)      TeNeal Pinkston (so) (Robinson) - has been consistent this season.

6)      Abby Shunk (Sr.) (Rochester) - won home invite over tough Porta team and others on 9/3; repeated feat again a week later against same personnel over at Porta.

7)      Kayla Brown (Sr.) (Peterburg-Porta) - very good runner despite being bested by Shunk twice.

8)      Kelsee Viano (Jr) (Carlinville) - finished third at Rochester in close affair and repeated tough act at Porta.

9)      Olivia Klaus (so) (Eureka) - no signs of sophomore blues; ran extremely well at Woodruff.

10)  Shelbie Pettie (Fr) (Sherrard) - the sleeper that no one is talking about; won Princeton Invite and broke course record by a solid margin.  Pettie supposedly contested Ms. Bastert well during summer road race.

11)  Hayley Thomas (Fr) (Winnebago) - led the ‘Bagos at Woodruff.

12)  Tracy Lotter (Sr.) (Winnebago) - the senior ace is looking good.

13)  Hanna Hogan (so) (St. Joseph) - another youngster who will be there when it counts.

14)  Sara Brauer (Sr.) (Peterburg-Porta) - ran #2 on a good squad on several occasions.

15)  Anna Morgan (?)  (Aurora Christian Catholic)- has won several Chicago area races.
