Class A #1
Winnebago
- Winnebago Winnebago ended up running
away with the Aurora Christian Sectional on Saturday. They appear
to be running well at the right time and will be challenged by no
one at the state meet.
- Elmwood-Brimfield Elmwood-Brimfield
looks to be getting everyone back healthy and looks to be a lock for
the second spot at state. They easily won the Elmwood Sectional
even with a still injured Alejandro Montoya.
- Robinson Robinson easily won the
Edwardsville (MEL) Sectional against some very good competition and
should compete with PBL for a shot at a trophy. If they can
continue to run like they have a regionals and sectionals, the
trophy should be theirs.
- Paxton Buckley Loda PBL was a major
surprise at one of the deepest sectionals in a long time. They had
a great meet from all of their runners and if they can duplicate
their performance at the sectional at state, they will definitely be
in the hunt for a trophy.
- Rockford Christian Rockford Christian
placed a solid second at the Aurora Christian Sectional against
another deep field. Their top two runners led the team to their
great finish and look to help Rockford Christian finish in the top
five at state.
- Beecher Like PBL, Beecher had another
great performance at the PBL Sectional on Saturday. Led by top five
performances by their top two runners, they beat some very good
teams that were supposedly the best teams at the sectional. If
their top two can repeat this performance at state, this team could
really surprise some people again.
- Cumberland Cumberland finished in
third place at the PBL Sectional on Saturday. After coming in being
seen as the favorite by many people, they were shocked by PBL and
Beecher. If they dont have a letdown after sectionals, they could
very well challenge for a trophy again.
- Shelbyville Shelbyville finished a
surprising fourth at the PBL Sectional on Saturday. Shelbyville
will need a better finish from their fourth and fifth runners if
they want to be in the top ten at state.
- Westmont Westmont is definitely a
team on the rise after finish third at the Aurora Christian
Sectional on Saturday. They seem to be coming together at the right
time and will definitely be a team that will be in the hunt for a
top ten finish.
- Nashville Nashville seems to be
running well at the end of the year. They have quietly been having
a very solid year and look to continue this trend at state. If they
can keep their strong pack going, they will finish in the top ten.
Individual Rankings
- Parker Thompson Tremont (Jr.)
Parker Thompson still has to be considered the favorite after his
great performance at the Elmwood Sectional on Saturday. If he can
put himself in a position at the end of the race, he will be the
state champion.
- Brian Peterson Fieldcrest (Sr.)
Brian Peterson put together a strong race to finish second behind
Thompson at the Elmwood Sectional on Saturday. He has been running
strong as of late and will definitely continue this into the state
meet.

- Trenton Tedrick Winnebago (Sr.)
Trenton Tedrick finished in the top spot at the Aurora Christian
Sectional on Saturday. He has steadily improved each week and if he
continues, he could challenge for the championship.
- Matt Paarlberg Beecher (Sr.)
Matt Paarlberg had a great race to win the sectional championship at
the PBL Sectional on Saturday. He beat the defending state champion
by over 20 seconds.
- Matt Feldhake Effingham St. Anthony (Sr.)
Matt Feldhake does not seem to be back in top form at the moment.
He has been playing soccer at the same time as running this year and
it might be playing a factor in his running right now.
- Jordan Patterson Williamsville (Sr.)
Jordan Patterson finished third behind Thompson and Peterson at
the Elmwood Sectional on Saturday. If he can continue to run well,
he will make a place for himself in the top five at the state meet.
- Graham Morris Lawrenceville (Jr.)
Graham Morris won Edwardsville (MEL) Sectional and looks to be
making a place for himself in the top five at state this year. It
looks like it will be very close from 1-10.
- Dustin Emerick Elmwood/Brimfield (Sr.)
Dustin Emerick cruised into the fourth spot at the
Elmwood Sectional on Saturday. With some rest this week, he should
be able to put together a great race and maybe break into the top
five.
- Sean Smith Winnebago (Jr.) Sean
Smith has continued to run well into the postseason. He finished
second behind teammate Trenton Tedrick at the Aurora Christian
Sectional on Saturday.
- Trace Carlson Oregon (Sr.) Trace
Carlson finished third overall at the Aurora Christian Sectional on
Saturday. He helped his team clinch the final spot at a very deep
sectional.
- David Guinn Wayne City (Sr.) David
Guinn finished second overall at the Edwardsville (MEL) Sectional on
Saturday. If he can put together another great performance, he will
be among those vying for the top ten.
- Mike Mirioux Hall (Sr.) Mike
Mirioux has quietly put together a phenomenal season and his last
four races have shown some very strong strides. If he can continue
this success, it wouldnt surprise me if he makes it into the top
ten at state.
- Justin Rehfedlt Rockford Christian
(Fr.) Justin Rehfedlt continues to run really well as a
freshman this year and should be able to put together another great
race to finish in the top fifteen in the state meet.
- Tom Pacey Paxton-Buckley-Loda (So.)
Tom Pacey looks to be healthy again and should do very well again at
state. He finished third overall at the PBL Sectional on Saturday.
- Logan Block Knoxville (Sr.) Logan
Block continues to comeback from an injury that set him back earlier
this year. I just have a feeling that he will put it together and
break into the top fifteen to help cap a very good story from this
season.
