Outlook:  This is definitely Parker Thompson’s race and I don’t see a lot of people really challenging him this year on the way to the championship.  He should be pretty motivated from last  year’s performance.

  6. Ben Vavra (Sr.) – Byron (51.72)
  7. Mike Kittelson (Sr.) – Byron (51.91)

Outlook:  Tanner Carlson could surprise a lot of people and really become a top notch 400m runner this year.  If he gets there this year, he will be extremely tough to beat.

300m Hurdles

  1. Eric Miller (Jr.) – Pana (39.94)

  7. Shane Kuhl (Sr.) – Breese Central (42.19)

Outlook:  A lot of last years’ medal winners have graduated and left this race wide open.  It will be interesting to see who fills in the void left by some very talented hurdles from last year.

  6. Brian Peterson (Sr.) – Fieldcrest
  7. Hunter Mickow (Sr.) – Princeton

Outlook:  This is another group of kids that all will be challenging at the end of the year to take the championship.  This is probably one of the more deeper years in the mile and could prove to be a lot of fun to watch as the season progresses.

200m Dash

  1. Will Lindsey (Sr.) – St. Joseph-Ogden
  2. Jeremy Pflederer (Sr.) – Tremont
  3. Ryan Rushing (Sr.) – Pinckneyville
  4. Matt Bailey (Sr.) – Tuscola
  5. Steven Bohr (Sr.) – Aurora Central Catholic
  6. Matt Carroll (Sr.) – Chicago Parker
  7. Justin Shippert (Sr.) – Sterling Newman Central Catholic

Outlook:  The 200m Dash always seems to bring some talented people from all over the state to challenge for the championship.  It wouldn’t surprise me if we have four or five unknown runners slip in here and surprise a lot of people.

Relay teams and team rankings will be finished when I have more information available on the teams and who is coming back.  Thanks.  If you have an information or results for Class A athletes, you can send the info to ilclassaxc@yahoo.com and I will include it in the weekly rankings.
